Waking up to the sounds of doves cooing and the waves gently crashing on the beach in front of East Winds Resort in St. Lucia, is something I won’t easily forget. We were guests of this secluded luxury resort for a week in March and enjoyed every moment immensely. If you are the type who like quiet vacations where you are treated like royalty by the staff and are not rushing to beat the crowds in claiming your beach or pool chair before the sun even rises, this is the place for you!
Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed at reception by Lucretia with freshly made fruit juice, warm cloth to refresh ourselves, and a guided stroll to our cottage through the lovely gardens. I was pleasantly surprised with the location of our cottage, and how beautiful and well-kept the property is. I can see how much the staff care.
Cottages
Talk about spoiled! We not only had our own cottage BUT we were near the pool, beach, and open-air dining. There are only 30 cottages on the East Winds property, which makes it a much more pleasant stay and not crowded at all. We socialized with other guests throughout our stay and have made lifetime friends!
Our cottage had a kitchen area with a stocked fridge, coffee maker, and kettle for tea. We found that we only drank the bottled water from the fridge, as we were able to choose our drinks throughout the day with our meals, at the beach, and at the self-serve swim-up bar in the pool. 😉
Dining
I can’t say enough about the amazing meals we were served! I’m literally salivating as I’m writing this as I think back on the four-course gourmet dinners, breakfast buffets, and the seafood such as barracuda, prawns, and tuna grilled on the barbecue at lunchtime—all served with fresh, locally-grown ingredients. You know… I ate like the “king” I am and didn’t gain an ounce. I think I need to live at East Winds! 😉
Each evening we joined other guests for a cocktail and to discuss our day’s adventures, before moving to the dining room for the formal dinner. I enjoyed this time to connect with other guests and make new friends.
Here are some of the amazing dishes we were served, only seen here…they aren’t in the video.
Activities
East Winds Resort offers a number of non-motorized sports which we took full advantage of! Joe and Wesley were more than willing to help with all the watersports such as paddle-boarding, kayaking, hobie cat sailing, and snorkeling right in front of the resort! If you’re interested in seeing more of the island, have a chat with Simeon at the Good Vibes hut to book a sailing adventure to Soufrière and see the majestic Pitons, have a sulfur bath, snorkel in the Caribbean Sea, and stand under a powerful waterfall! Another sail I recommend is the Sunset Cruise on a catamaran…with champagne, of course!
Needless to say, I highly recommend East Winds, St. Lucia and your stay will spoil you for any other all-inclusive vacation, guaranteed!
