Hidden in the mountains just a short 90-minute drive from Vancouver, BC is a beautiful getaway, Harrison Hot Springs Resort located on Harrison Lake. I was fortunate to spend a staycation weekend at this Resort courtesy of Reservations.com. For me, it was a 3-hour drive from home but I felt like I had ventured further away to a relaxing, peaceful retreat.

Rooms
My room was located in the main hotel at the back, overlooking the hot springs pools. It was so nice to look out and see the pools from one window and the gorgeous forest from the other, though I wish I had a balcony to sit on with my morning coffee and book.
My spacious room was decorated in an old-fashioned style (I’m not sure about other rooms). It contained the typical amenities except for a microwave. I understand this is standard throughout this hotel.
If the noise doesn’t bother you, then the main hotel would be fine for your stay. I found the walls are paper-thin and I could hear full-on conversations from my next-door neighbours at midnight, as well as young children running and screaming in the hallway very early in the day. Perhaps the tower rooms are different—let me know below in the comments if you’ve found it quieter in another part of the hotel.

Dining
The Resort has a number of dining options.
The breakfast buffet is delicious in the Lakeside Café and offers a wide variety of choices from cereal to omelettes made to order.
For lunch, an easy choice is Miss Margaret’s which offers Starbucks and pre-made salads and sandwiches—the Chef Salad made a perfect lunch for only $8.50. In the summertime, I’d suggest buying a delicious salad and taking it to enjoy at the beach.
I was at the Resort for one dinner and tried the Prime Rib at Lakeside Café. It was very delicious, tender, and cooked perfectly. I guess I should have taken a photo…
Room service was fast! I ordered nachos and the smallest order was for 2 but in reality, it would have fed 4. I felt bad wasting so much of it but there was no microwave to heat it up again.
Just down the street from the resort, facing the lake, are many other dining options. Take a stroll down the path along Harrison Lake and check them out!
Things to Do
I had an amazing 55-minute relaxation spa treatment on my day of arrival. I could not have had a better experience from the minute I walked into the Healing Springs Spa. The staff was super-friendly and it was a fantastic experience. I did not take photos as it would have ruined the “relaxation” mood. 🙂
Hot springs pools. Enough said! Five mineral pools make up the Harrison Hot Springs Resort’s natural mineral pools for guests—2 indoor pools and an outdoor family pool, a lap pool, and an adult pool. The adult pool is open to a later hour, so that is the one I spent time in. It was quite busy but there was room to sit, relax, and people-watch! Try them all! Some famous guests include Clark Gable, John Wayne, Michael Bublé, Robin Williams, Liam Neeson…and now myself. Just kidding!
Harrison Hot Springs Resort is steps away from Harrison Lake, which would be very busy in the summertime! There are many water-based activities available as well as a big, beautiful beach and swimming area to enjoy. Boat tours and rentals make for great summer activities for everyone.

Sounds like a great place to go and have a relaxing weekend!…and I need one of those weekender bags! 🙂
The hot springs pools were so nice and relaxing, and the bag… you know how much I love bags!!
Hi Sherri
Great to see articles about little gems like Harrison Hot Springs Resort, we have been there 4 times over the last few years. One tip is if you book in advance you may be able to get a pool walk out room, it opens up onto the deck of the adult pool, a great way to relax, is step out of your room into the pool rather than walk through the hotel.
great read. thank you..
Thanks Dan! That’s a great tip and I will do that next time I visit! It was a bit of a walk from my room to the pools so having a walkout room would make my stay even that much better!
This resort looks so dreamy!!! The trees in the background by the pool are some of my fave. Canada is just so beautiful! And yes I need to get a Gatta bag, too! What a perfect staycation!
Thanks Lily! It’s definitely great place for a staycation, you need to visit BC!
