Fairmont Waterfront Hotel – A Vancouver Gem

Fairmont Waterfront, Vancouver, BC

My stay was hosted by V2V Vacations. Opinions are my own.

There are many hotels in Vancouver to choose from, but none more central to what downtown Vancouver offers than the Fairmont Waterfront, with a stunning view of Burrard Inlet and the Coastal Mountains. The luxury hotel is within walking distance to famous Gastown, many excellent restaurants and coffee shops, FlyOver Canada experience, easy access to walking or jogging along the seawall, and the dock of the V2V Empress, where you can take a luxury catamaran cruise to Victoria’s inner harbour and back.

Famous guests have been known to stay in this great location—I can see why! Upon arrival, we were greeted by the concierge team and directed inside the fragrant lobby…I have to admit, it’s too strong of a scent and made me cough the entire time I spent in the lobby, but others have mentioned how much they enjoy the scent. All the staff were friendly and efficient in ensuring we checked in, were settled into our suite, and had everything we needed.

Rooms

These quiet, updated guestrooms are roomy and comfortable, and we appreciated the fabulous view of Burrard Inlet from our suite and easy-to-access wifi. It’s always a top requirement for me. I curled up and watched the activity of the planes and boats for a short while. Looking down from our room on the 23rd floor, I saw the outdoor swimming pool, outdoor dining, and gardens.

Dining

The breakfast buffet in the Arc Restaurant is also something to talk about! They offer a wide selection, including my favourite…smoked salmon. What’s a breakfast buffet without smoked salmon? You also must try the Hotel’s very own honey from their apiary. So delicious! It’s great to see (and taste) fresh herbs and honey and know that it’s all grown right on the property and locally sourced ingredients throughout their menu.

Things to Do

This Fairmont hotel offers amenities I’d love to try on my next stay. Because we went on a full-day adventure to Vancouver Island on the V2V Empress, we didn’t have much time to spend in the hotel, but we did take advantage of the proximity to FlyOver Canada and room service for a late dinner!

The entire hotel property is 100% smoke—and vapour-free. I’m so glad to hear this, and I will stay again!
