Brookside Inn Boutique Hotel Bed and breakfast B&B Abbotsford, BC

On a recent visit to Abbotsford, I stayed at Brookside Inn Boutique Hotel, gifted by Tourism Abbotsford.

From the moment I drove into the stone courtyard, it felt like home. This was the first time I’ve stayed in a bed and breakfast-style hotel and I had a great experience thanks to hosts Chris & Sandi Buis!

I stayed in the suite aptly named “Midnight in Paris” with decor inspired by the movie of the same name. The hosts were so thoughtful and included a DVD of the movie in the suite to watch, as well. From my deck, I could relax, drink in hand, and enjoy the peaceful views of Mt. Baker and the surrounding countryside. The Hotel is located in a subdivision with wine-named streets… how perfect! Other movie-themed rooms are Under the Tuscan Sun, The Secret Garden, A Good Year in the Vineyard, Thomas Crown Affair, and A Roman Holiday.

Now let’s talk about breakfasts… wow! I had two delicious breakfasts in the Breakfast at Tiffany’s Dining Lounge, thoughtfully created by chef and owner Sandi Buis. As I mentioned, this is the first time I have stayed in a bed and breakfast so while I was sipping my coffee and wondering where I would find a menu, my amazing breakfast magically appeared.

The Inn is located in an area that is popular with birders. As I walked in the front door, I passed a nest with baby birds chirping away a welcome greeting, and breakfast by the window was provided with binoculars and a brochure about the local birds to seek.

You can find Brookside Inn in a central area of Abbotsford with easy access to the highway and many activities. If you’re interested in wine, beer, cider, and mead tasting, and great places to eat and shop, check out my other article “Wine, Dine, and Shop in Abbotsford”.
