Have you ever taken a photo and wanted to retake it because it’s not perfect? Yes, that’s me. My SD card is filled with hundreds upon thousands of images that all look slightly the same. I am exaggerating a bit, maybe 10 to 20 images that look similar.
One image that I was hoping to retake, is my giant crooked pineapple photo from Glass Beach on the Hawaiian island of Kauai. I almost booked another trip just to do this. Crazy, right? Then I got to thinking about the photo and what that trip meant. For me, it was a trip right in the middle of my master’s degree to celebrate my 50th and my mom’s 70th birthdays… chick trip to Hawaii… time with just myself and my Mom driving all over Kauai in a hot red Mustang convertible, trying to find a good location to take photos of a pineapple, all the while smelling it in and trying desperately not to cut into it before we photographed it. We had a bucket list and covered most of it, including finding Glass Beach, and had fun and laughs (and homework) on our adventures.
Be happy with what you have (even if it’s a giant crooked pineapple photo and not perfect) and enjoy life to the fullest!
